Sutera’s city is at 500 m at sea level and it is near S. Paolino’s mount.

On the top of the mount there is a church dedicated to Saint Paolino and Saint Onofrio.

During Easter  period we celebrate  procession for holy week and the Tuesday after Easter there is holy day in honour of Saint Paolino Bishop of Nola.

 

 

The Rabato’s quartier has arab origine. It’s name means borg.

During Christmas holidays, we celebrate living crib. Infact, Sutera is called “crib city”.

 

 

 

 

Interessting archeological  situm is “Pizzo Saint Mark”.

It has rocky sections and several natural cavities.

 

 

 


Sutera tipical gastronomy is based on territory risorses. The ingradients are ordinary and good.
The tipical dishs are: maccu,  tagliarini and maccarruna filati; pitirri; imbriulati; guastedda; lu spingiuni (like pizza).

Tipicaly desserts are: virciddata, gaddruzzi, minnulicchi, taralli,  mustazzola, pasta di Napoli and other desserts.
